When I think of a resourceful person, I think it isn't necessarily someone who knows the answers to all problems, but its someone who knows what’s around them and how to use this to help them adapt to a new environment or situation to fill the gaps, someone who knows how to find other resources to grow their abilities and finally someone who knows how to succeed through adversity.
On several occasions throughout my life I have been dropped into the deep end of the pool and my only option was to figure it out at all cost. While working as an Executive Assistant to a Federal Minister, in order to survive in the fast-paced work field, the only option I had was to use my previous life experiences and education background in order to learn and climb the ropes involved.
When I got involved in the political field, I had no knowledge about how things ran. I looked up to my father who always had an interest in politics as well as an older cousin who worked as a Director in the Government. They were my go-to people for whenever something unfamiliar arose or if I was in a situation where I felt guidance is needed. In fact, I reached to whoever and whatever in order to tackle the issues. Which leads me to my next point of teamwork.
I am a firm believer that with any relationship, sport, or business, teamwork is the key to success. The highest level of success is achieved through collective efforts within a group of individuals. Being resourceful is not always finding solutions yourself, but it is also helping those on your team to bring out their own maximum potential collectively in order to achieve an end goal.
What makes me most resourceful is my attitude that I have to succeed through adversity. A positive mindset that isn’t willing to give up or “can’t stop, won’t stop” attitude is what sets me apart from others. No matter how big or small a new chapter starts, I will complete it to the best of my ability.
To put it simply, I am able to deal with new situations skilfully and promptly, I act effectively, imaginatively, and creatively and finally, I am able to use the means at my disposal to complete any issues or difficulties that cross my path.
